I started my career the way a lot of designers do — furnishing apartments that looked great in photos and felt like nobody's home in person. Soft palettes, staged bookshelves, throw pillows nobody was allowed to touch. It worked for some clients. It never worked for the men I was designing for.
Over and over, the same conversation happened: a guy would walk into his "finished" apartment and say some version of "it's nice, but it's not me." Nobody was asking what he actually needed — a place to train, a desk that could hold three monitors, a couch that survived game night, a bedroom that felt like a reset button after an eighteen-hour day.
So I built Masculine Spaces Design around a simple idea: design for how men actually live in New York, not around a generic idea of luxury. Steel, leather, concrete, wood with grain you can see and feel. Rooms with weight to them. Nothing precious, nothing fragile, nothing you have to apologize for.
Today I work with founders, traders, doctors, athletes, and guys who just closed on their first place and don't want it to look like a hotel room. Every project starts the same way — with a conversation about how you live, not a mood board of trends.
Masculine doesn't mean cold, and it doesn't mean a cliché. It means a room built with intention — one that reflects control, discipline, and confidence without saying a word.

I got tired of walking into a client's home a year after "completion" and finding the good chair covered in a throw blanket because nobody actually wanted it in the room. Design should get used, not protected.
Masculine Spaces Design exists because the design industry kept underserving men — treating them like an afterthought in their own homes, or worse, handing them a look that had nothing to do with who they were. I wanted to build a firm where the brief starts with the client, not a catalog.
